SPORTSCARD GRADING GUIDELINES
NEAR MINT-MINT (NRMT/MT) — The card looks similar to a card coming right out of a fresh pack. Extremely four sharp corners, well-centered, and no surface wear or creasing.
EXCELLENT-MINT (EX-MT) — The card has four sharp or reasonably sharp corners, decently centered, no creasing and little, if any, surface wear.
EXCELLENT (EX) — The card has minor corner wear (no rounding), usually decently centered, no creasing and only minor surface wear.
VERY GOOD-EXCELLENT (VG-EX) — The card has a bit more corner wear than "EX", centering is pretty normal (although some are miscut). Some VG-EX cards might have creasing, but such creases will be minor. Still are nice collectible cards.
GOOD-VERY GOOD (GD-VG) — The card has corner rounding and/or a crease or two. It shows its wear and age, but is still collectible.
FAIR-GOOD (F-GD) — Well-worn cards. Heavy creasing and corner wear. Possible pen mark, tape mark, and other marks. Sometimes referred to as "Bargain cards", but a great chance to buy cards at an affordable price.
The above grading guidelines describe my major grading conditions. There are also cards that fall between two grades (such as EX-NRMT), which demonstrate characteristics of both grades and fall between two grading categories.
